Chile lost a lake. They aren't exactly sure when or how, but it is gone. All that is left is a giant fissure, prompting speculation that the ground opened up and swallowed the 12 acre lake whole. Juan Jose Romero, regional director of Chile's National Forestry Corporation CONAF, stated, "In March we patrolled the area and everything was normal ... we went again in May and to our surprise we found the lake had completely disappeared."
That's what happens when you skip the April Patrol.
